What the PTA Do

The chief aims of the PTA are to raise money that will benefit the children and the school and also provide fun activities and experiences for every child.  Our current long-term goal is to help improve the playground.

In 2022/23 we held a Christmas film afternoon, a Valentines disco, a grown-ups only comedy night and the summer fair all of which raised a fantastic amount of money, helping to fund parties for the incoming EYFS children and the YR6 leavers, a whole-school Coronation treat of an ice cream van visit, and provide a boost to our long-term goal funds.

Since September we have held a Glow Disco and a Make the Rules day, both of which the children really enjoyed and really helped make a good start to our fundraising!

We have spent money from the funds raised by providing the snacks for a Christmas film afternoon, purchasing a Carrot Productions online package of the Snowman Theatre Show, and running a pop-up Elfridges shop, which was a not for profit event to give the children an opportunity to purchase gifts for family.

Upcoming activities this year include a Valentines Disco, a Family Chocolate Bingo event, another grown-ups only event and of course the ever popular summer fair.

We are only in the research and planning stage of our goal to improve the playground and will update parents as and when we have some news.  But we do have plans to purchase some exciting new equipment for the school soon, resources that we hope will enhance both learning and play.

How You Can Get Involved

By you and your children participating in our events you are already generously donating your time and money, without which we would not be able to raise so much.  But there are so many other ways to get involved and to help, and we would love to hear from you if: you have time to volunteer for an event; you have any ideas for fundraising activities or ways to spend the money raised; you think you have any skills, knowledge or contacts that could provide interesting opportunities or support us in our goals.

If you want to get involved in any way, you can email us, talk to one of the committee or join us for a meeting.  All parents and staff are welcome at meetings as often as they would like, we post details of upcoming meetings on the school newsletter, these are often via Zoom, but we try to have at least one in-person meeting per term, which is usually held in a local pub!
